A RARE .177 BSA IMPROVED MODEL 'B' UNDER-LEVER AIR-RIFLE, serial no. 16722,
for 1908, with blued tapering round 19 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sight, rotary loading tap at breech both the securing plate for and the tap-handle marked 'P. PAT', plain air-chamber stamped with 'THE BSA AIR RIFLE (IMPROVED MODEL B)' over 'THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS COMPANY LIMITED' over 'SOLE MANUFACTURERS', all clearly legible, one-hole trigger-unit, walnut chequered straight-hand butt-stock with clear 'piled arms' trade mark to left side of butt, iron heel-plate, cast trigger-guard with front-mounted trigger adjustment screw and 'spade' catch under-lever marked 'LINCOLN JEFFERIES' PATENT', the whole retaining strong traces of frosted original finish
